On Tuesday, May 26, Brewers Community Foundation™ will join fellow community supporters, including Mayor Cavalier Johnson and State Sen. LaTonya Johnson to start construction of a new Habitat for Humanity home in Milwaukee. Current Milwaukee Brewers™ players will trade their ball caps for hard hats as they help build the first wall of a new home. Also joining the event is Prime Financial Credit Union, which supports some Milwaukee Habitat homebuyers with lending services. The home is one of 40 new houses Milwaukee Habitat is planning to build this year, each to be sold to first-time homebuyers at an affordable rate. By sponsoring this home, Brewers Community Foundation is helping local families invest in the stability and equity of homeownership.

Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity
Milwaukee is in the midst of an affordable housing crisis where one in three renters are spending half or more of their income on housing. Together, we build homeownership by helping families become first-time homebuyers and making critical home repair affordable for existing homeowners. Since our founding in 1984, Milwaukee Habitat has helped more than 1500 local families build or repair a place to call home.
About Brewers Community Foundation™ (BCF)
BCF harnesses the pride, passion and commitment of Brewers fans, players and other supporters to positively impact the lives of children and their families in the Greater Milwaukee area and throughout Wisconsin. For more than a decade, BCF has generated more than $65 million to support local non-profits in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs. Approximately 200 non-profit organizations receive funding annually throughout the Foundation’s initiatives. Visit brewers.com/BCF to learn about ways you can join the team that goes to bat for those in need.
About Prime Financial Credit Union
Founded in 1923 as Wisconsin’s first credit union, Prime Financial Credit Union (PFCU) was originally established to meet the financial needs of City of Milwaukee employees. Today, PFCU now serves all Milwaukee-area residents as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), making fair and affordable financial products and services accessible across Milwaukee and its surrounding neighborhoods. As a CDFI, PFCU believes partnerships grounded in shared values can amplify the positive impact of individual organizations. In our continued mission to inspire economic opportunity, Prime Financial Credit Union has committed $3 million in affordable financing for first-time homebuyers in collaboration with Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity.
