Usually, the most meaningful work begins with a simple yet powerful collaboration. A shared vision. A moment of connection that sparks something deeper. What begins as a partnership —a collaborative creative project— can grow into a long-term, meaningful relationship.
I began my professional journey in community outreach and community engagement immediately after graduating from university. For a decade, I dedicated my life to international consulting, where I had the opportunity to be part of the Carnegie Endowment’s Binational Migration Group, an influential initiative between Mexico and the United States focused on immigration reform.
The experience of delving into the study of migration between both countries and its complex dimensions inspired me to join the Consular Network of Mexico in the United States. For more than a decade, I served in diverse capacities across three consular representations, where I had the privilege of building networks and cooperative relationships with national, state, and local organizations, as well as serving countless individuals, both nationals and foreign-born.
Windows of Opportunity: Real Impact on Families
Over time, financial empowerment captured my interest, as both individual economic prosperity and long-term collective economic growth begin with financial inclusion.
Financial education and the expansion of financial access have been priorities for international financial institutions and national governments’ foreign policy agendas in recent decades. For example, in 2014, the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) reported that around 2,5 billion people—more than half of the world’s population—lacked access to formal financial services. An astonishing statistic in our age, marked by unprecedented global digital connectivity
At the same time, within the specific context of the Mexican Consular Network in the United States, the Ventanillas de Educación Financiera (VAF) program, launched between 2014 and 2015, gradually expanded to offer financial education and guidance on savings, credit, housing, and investment, as well as remittances. It also connects individuals with accessible financial services to strengthen families’ economic well-being.
The expansion of financial participation sparked my curiosity as a smart investment, one in which communities play a central role in their own development, helping to:
- Reduce poverty levels
- Integrate people into the formal economy
- Stimulate the creation of small and medium-sized businesses (employment)
- Increase in national per-capita income
- Strengthen social stability
A New Chapter at Prime Financial Credit Union
This is how my collaboration with financial and entrepreneurship institutions in the United States began. Building on my consular experience, the next step in my professional career was joining the Prime Financial Credit Union team as Community Development Manager, with the purpose of continuing to contribute to the common good. Good things happen when we align our talents and passions with a purpose that transcends the individual.
After more than a year leading PFCU’S community development agenda, I can say that joining Prime Financial Credit Union has allowed me to deepen my commitment to long-term financial empowerment, equity, and education. We not only focus on serving our membership; we are also dedicated to empowering the local communities that have placed their trust in us.

With a deep understanding of both languages and cultures, I am inspired to build bridges between communities and open pathways to opportunity for those who have been historically underserved or overlooked by the traditional banking system. As a community leader, my passion for service and connection is my way of transforming banking into a tool for making dreams possible.
